According to foreign media reports, Chery Automobile’s Russian branch recently announced the launch of a new energy vehicle brand. The sub-brand is called Chery Tiggo. It will establish its own distribution network in Russia. By the end of 2024, there will be 70 dealers across Russia. Nationwide, specializing in the sales of new energy vehicles.

 

  On December 1, Chery's Russian office held a new brand launch conference for dealers and displayed two pure electric models - the Tiggo eQ1 urban electric vehicle and the Tiggo eQ7 medium-sized SUV. By the end of 2024, Chery's Tiggo brand will have seven models, three of which are electric models and four are hybrid models.

  The Chery brand itself already has three hybrid models in Russia - these will be folded into the new brand, Chery Tiggo. At the same time, Tiggo's pure gasoline models will still belong to the parent brand, Chery Automobile.

  So far, only the Tiggo eQ1 electric car has been officially released in Russia, and it is expected to go on sale in Russia from April to May next year. In China, the electric car is called Little Ant. The Little Ant/eQ1 is 3200mm long, 1670mm wide, 1550mm high and has a wheelbase of 2150mm.

 

  Currently in China, the 2024 Chery Ant uses a single-motor rear-wheel drive with an output of 49 horsepower, a maximum torque of 95 Nm, a battery capacity of 25.05 or 29.23 kWh, and a CLTC cruising range of 251 kilometers and 321 kilometers respectively. Top speed is limited to 100 km/h.

 

  Starting this year, Chery has also added a pure electric vehicle brand iCar, but it has not yet announced its launch in Russia.
