Ora Haomao, an electric vehicle brand owned by the Chinese car company Great Wall Motors, has officially rolled off the production line at the new energy vehicle manufacturing base in Rayong, Thailand. This is the first mass-produced pure electric vehicle produced locally in Thailand.

Thailand's Minister of Industry Bipada Wichaikorn said that the launch of the Euler Cat is an epoch-making breakthrough in the history of Thailand's automobile industry and will inject new impetus into the industry. Thailand’s Ministry of Industry will continue to support the development of the electric vehicle industry and promote Thailand to become an electric vehicle and parts production base in the ASEAN region.

Cheng Jinkui, president of Great Wall Motors' ASEAN region, said that since Great Wall Motors entered Thailand, it has actively supported Thailand in building an electric vehicle manufacturing center in Southeast Asia. The launch of Euler Haomao in Thailand not only demonstrates Thailand's important position in Great Wall Motors' global strategy, but will also accelerate the electrification transformation of Thailand's automotive industry.

Thailand is an important automobile producer in Southeast Asia. The Thai government plans to increase the country's electric vehicle production to 30% of total automobile production by 2030. Great Wall Motors completed the acquisition of the Rayong factory in Thailand in November 2020, becoming the first Chinese automobile brand to enter Thailand with full investment.
