According to preliminary data from market research organization Dataforce, Tesla Model Y will become the best-selling model in Europe in 2023, and its sales volume far exceeds that of other models.

 

  Preliminary data from Dataforce shows that in December last year, Tesla Model Y's monthly sales fell 24% year-on-year to 24,394 units, but it was still the monthly sales champion; Renault Clio's monthly sales increased 29% to 20,691 units.

 

  Overall, Tesla Model Y sales in Europe last year were 254,822 units, a year-on-year increase of 85.2%. As the best-selling car in Europe in 2023, Tesla Model Y has also achieved several milestones: the first electric car to become the best-selling car of the year in Europe, the first mid-size car to become the best-selling car of the year in Europe, the first A high-end model that became Europe's best-selling car of the year, and the first non-European model among contemporary cars to become Europe's best-selling car of the year.

 

  According to data released by the German Transport Administration (KBA), the Tesla Model Y was the best-selling pure electric vehicle in Germany last year, with approximately 45,800 registrations. Consulting and market research firm Berylls predicts that Tesla is expected to help German car production grow by 2.5% annually, exceeding annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 1.4%.

 

  In early 2023, Tesla boosted Model Y sales by slashing prices, and this trend has continued into this year. Just this week, Tesla cut Model Y prices in several European markets, including Germany. Among them, the price of Tesla Model Y in Denmark dropped by nearly 11%.

  On the list of the TOP 50 best-selling models in Europe in 2023, there is only one model from a Chinese brand, namely MG ZS. Last year, MG ZS's sales in the European market nearly doubled, rising 94.8% year-on-year to 89,902 units, ranking 40th.

 

  However, in the list of the TOP 50 best-selling models in Europe last December, MG ZS ranked 19th, with monthly sales soaring 156.4% to 11,470 units. In the December monthly sales list, there is another model from a Chinese brand on the list, the MG 4. Sales surged 172.4% to 9,098 units, surpassing Volkswagen ID.4, BMW i4 and other models, ranking 30th name.
