According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's auto export volume was 1.07 million units, while Japan's auto export volume was only 954,000 units during the same period. In the first quarter of 2023, China has officially surpassed Japan to become the world's largest car exporter.

Looking back at 2002, when China just joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), the export volume of automobiles was only a mere 20,000 vehicles. The explosive growth of China's automobile industry is far from domestic demand.

Specific to the level of auto companies, in the first quarter SAIC contributed 231,000 vehicles to China's auto exports, ranking first in the country. Ranked second is Chery Automobile, which has been committed to developing overseas markets and has exported 172,000 new cars. As for Tesla, Changan Automobile and Geely Automobile, they ranked 3-5 separately.

At the same time, under the background of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as European, American, Japanese and Korean car companies have withdrawn from the Russian market, Chinese brands have "naturally" taken over the Russian market. According to statistics, Chinese brands currently account for more than 40% of the local market share, and Russia has also become the country with the largest export value of Chinese auto products in the first quarter of 2023.

Although traditional energy vehicles still occupy the "big head", the new energy strategy is absolutely indispensable for the rapid development of China's auto exports in recent years.

Due to the strong support of national policies and the objective size of the market itself, China has already become the center of the new energy vehicle industry in the world. In addition to China's independent brands and various new forces that can benefit from the rich and comprehensive new energy peripheral industries, overseas brands, especially car companies with joint venture brands in China, also see the advantages of China's industrial chain, and one after another. It is regarded as the industrial base of its own new energy vehicles.

China's auto industry has once again demonstrated a wave of "China speed" to the world. It is hoped that in the next ten years, or even five years, we will be able to see Chinese brands rushing to the world market with the momentum of technology crushing.
