NIO cooperated with British artist Nicolai Sclater to launch a special painted version of NIO EP9.

The car was included in the Peterson Automobile Museum charity auction, where the pre-auction estimate was $800,000.

NIO EP9 is the first model launched by the brand and is positioned as a pure electric supercar, but this car cannot be legally used on the road around the world, so it can only be driven on the track. The car is equipped with 4 high-performance motors and 4 independent gearboxes, with a maximum output power of 1360 horsepower, a 0-200 km/h acceleration time of 7.1 seconds, and a maximum speed of 313 km/h. In 2017, he set a lap time of 6:45.9 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.

The special painted version for this auction incorporates the personalized designs of many artists and is hand-painted by Nicolai Sclater. The whole car is mainly dark blue, with large areas of pink, yellow and sky blue decorations. Full of personalization.

At auction, the car will have its motor, battery and other mechanical parts removed, making it more of a static piece of art. However, if the buyer has a demand, he can also request the missing parts from the official for free. However, the estimated price of the car before the auction was $800,000, but the highest bid on the spot was only $550,000, so the car was not successfully auctioned in the end.
